Charlize Theron is revealing details about her love life.
The “The Drew Barrymore Show” actress opened up about her love life during her appearance on “The Old Guard” on Thursday, stating that she hasn’t dated anybody in a long time.
‘I haven’t dated anybody in almost five years,’ the 45-year-old actress said, adding that she is still ‘open’ to going on dates with her friends.
“like I’m in a place in my life where you have to come with a lot of game,” she said.
‘Not the sort of game we think of, the kind of game where my life is incredibly fantastic, so you better be able to deliver that and maybe better because I won’t take anything less,’ Theron said through video conversation to Barrymore.
‘I can honestly say that I have never been lonely in my life,’ she concluded.
“Once I had my children, it’s not that it replaces something, or that it makes you less interested in something else,” she remarked of her daughters, Jackson and August.
She said, “I’m still firing on all cylinders. I just think your priorities are in a place that is of high demand; it’s a lot of work to be a parent. Part of that is at the end of the day I get to bed and I think, ‘Oh my God, I wouldn’t want this day to be any different’. ”
Barrymore, who has two daughters, Olive, 7, and Frankie, 6, knows what Theron is talking about when it comes to dating.
“I always say I would want someone to be an addition, if not the equation, and never a subtraction,” stated the host.
From 2002 to 2010, Theron was married to Stuart Townsend, and from 2013 to 2015, she was married to Sean Penn.
On The Howard Stern Show in June, the mother of two spoke out about her dating life, stating, “I had no desire to be married. That’s never been anything I’ve cared about.”
“On the lives of my children, I’ve never been lonely,” she remarked. “I’ve never felt alone.”
“My life right now just doesn’t allow a lot of room for something like that to happen,” Theron said. “But in saying that, there’s not this thing that drives me [to have a romantic relationship].”
She went on to say, “I like getting set up on dates, but I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to live with another person. To be honest, they may have to purchase the home next to mine. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to cope with it again; I’m too old for such nonsense.”
Theron previously said that she does not feel as though she is “missing out on something in my life” by not dating.
On E!’s “Daily Pop,” she added, “I really do believe that women really… make shit happen for ourselves.”
“And I believe that sometimes we… or society approaches relationships in the perspective of, ‘Obviously, that is something that you need and desire.’ And for me, that hasn’t been the case.”
