Gwyneth Paltrow has stated that there is one film part she regrets, calling her performance as Rosemary in the Jack Black comedy Shallow Hal a “disaster.”

Paltrow portrays an overweight lady who, after being hypnotized, appears to Black’s character Hal as a lighter version of herself in the 2001 film. For the part, the Goop Lab star had to put on a fat costume.

During a recent Netflix video in which she quizzed her closest friend and aide Kevin Keating to see how well he knew her, she expressed her hatred for the film.

In the video, Keating, who was charged with demonstrating how well he knew Paltrow as part of ‘The BFF Test,’ says: “I would say it would be Shallow [Hal]. I’m not sure who told you to do that one, but it wasn’t me.

“I wasn’t there working for you. Not around for that.”

Paltrow said, “That was before your time. See what happened? Disaster.”

Paltrow went on to describe how she felt ashamed since she was treated differently while wearing her character’s fat suit.

“The first day I tried the fat suit on, I was in the Tribeca Grand and walked through the lobby,” she told W Magazine in 2006. It was heartbreaking. It was quite upsetting. No one would make eye contact with me because I was obese. I felt humiliated.”

She said, “I was wearing this black shirt with big snowmen on it. For some reason, the clothes they make for women [who] are overweight are horrible. I felt humiliated because people were really dismissive.”

Meanwhile, the chief executive of NHS England has attacked Gwyneth Paltrow’s new Netflix series The Goop Lab, citing the show’s “dubious wellness products and dodgy procedures.”

The Goop Lab debuted in January on the streaming service. “Leading with curiosity, Gwyneth Paltrow and her goop team look at psychedelics, energy work, and other challenging wellness topics,” Netflix description for the series says.
